Outages & compensation: the apology resets

Some events in the Codex archive are associated with outage recovery, usage-accounting bugs or abnormal drains. The classification comes from announcement language and timing.

Historical cases often follow incident, repair, then compensation, but that is not a promise. A new incident does not guarantee a reset for every user.

This hub collects events classified as outage compensation and preserves each original announcement. Coverage for your account follows that source and your Usage Dashboard.

FAQFAQ

Are compensation resets announced in advance?

Rarely on their own — they arrive as part of the fix announcement ("fixed, and we've reset everyone"). The radar's official-watch state sometimes reflects these moves early.

Do unaffected users get compensation too?

Not necessarily. Scope is event-specific; when an announcement does not say all paid accounts, this site leaves eligibility unknown.

How do I tell whether a reset was compensation?

Read the announcement's wording (outage / issue / drained / compensation) against its timing — the era + type labels on our event pages do this classification automatically; browse the list below.
